NIC Industries Certified Applicator

Color that
earns it.

Cerakote is a ceramic-polymer coating that — applied correctly — outlasts traditional bluing on every metric: abrasion, salt-spray, solvent resistance, holster wear. The difference isn't the product, it's the prep. Skip the prep and any finish fails. We do not skip the prep.

The ProcessSix Defined Steps · Every Job10 to 14 days

Real prep,
real bake.

NIC Industries requires certified applicators to run six steps in order on every job. The bench card tracks the work from intake to handover. No shortcuts on the prep, no shortcuts on the bake — those are the two places where most bad finishes happen.

01
Disassemble
Strip to component level. Document every part on the job card. Nothing gets coated assembled.
02
Degrease
Ultrasonic bath and solvent wipe. Pull every trace of oil and residue from every pore before blast.
03
Blast
Aluminum-oxide media to bare metal. Polymer prepped per NIC spec. Surface profile is set here.
04
Spray
HVLP gun in the dedicated booth. Single solid color or layered for patterns and Battleworn schedules.
05
Bake
Cured in the oven — metal at 250 °F, polymer at 200 °F. Full cure time, not cut short.
06
Reassemble
Reassemble, lube to spec, function test. Photographed at completion for the job file.

Every schedule
quoted.

Four standard finish schedules — all can be combined. Custom camo, company logos, and multi-color splatter builds are available on request with a quoted price before any work starts.

Style 01 — Solid Color

Single-color, full firearm

Every component coated in one color. Simplest prep, fastest turnaround — 10 to 14 days. 100+ H-Series and Elite colors available. Most popular: Graphite Black, Burnt Bronze, Sniper Grey, Magpul FDE, Sniper Green.

Lead time: 10 to 14 days
Style 02 — Two-Tone

Frame one color, slide another

Receiver and barrel in a base color, the other major component in a contrasting tone. Ideal for EDC pistols and hunting rifles where you want contrast without a full camo pattern. Clean masked edges — no overspray.

Lead time: 12 to 16 days
Style 03 — Camo Pattern

Multicam, Kryptek, custom

Stencil-based camo patterns in Multicam, Kryptek Highlander, digital woodland, or a custom schedule built around your hunting environment. Idaho sagebrush country, high-desert, or mountain conifer — each pattern priced on request.

Lead time: 14 to 21 days
Style 04 — Battleworn

Intentionally distressed finish

Two-layer Cerakote process — base color applied and cured, second color sprayed over and then selectively hand-worn through on the high spots. Every Battleworn finish is unique. Most requested: Graphite Black over Burnt Bronze.

Lead time: 14 to 18 days

Why It WorksAbrasion · Corrosion · Chemical ResistanceField-Tested

Built for
Idaho country.

Southeast Idaho puts firearms through it — sage dust in September, creek crossings in October, freeze-thaw cycles all winter. Cerakote was designed for this, and when applied correctly it delivers on every claim.

Protection 01

Corrosion resistance

NIC Industries independently tests Cerakote to ASTM B117 salt-spray standards — over 2,000 hours before failure, versus bluing which typically fails inside 100. Creek crossings and wet sage don't touch it.

Protection 02

Abrasion & holster wear

Cerakote H-Series measures 10H pencil hardness — harder than most steel finishes. Daily carry holster friction, brush contact, scabbard wear on a hunting rifle: the coating stays put where bluing and paint would wear through.

Protection 03

Chemical & solvent resistance

Oils, solvents, bore cleaner, CLP — Cerakote's ceramic-polymer matrix is chemically resistant to all standard cleaning chemistry. Clean your rifle properly without worrying about stripping the finish.
